Senior Functional IT analyst (Banking)

Context

For one of our clients in the Belgian banking sector, we are looking for a Senior Functional Analyst to support strategic transformation projects related to payments and account management systems.

You will join a complex, regulated environment and work closely with business stakeholders and IT teams on high-impact banking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse and formalize business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews

  • Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories and process documentation

  • Act as a bridge between business, IT, and external partners

  • Contribute to the evolution of functional processes related to:

    • Payments (SEPA Credit Transfers, Direct Debits, instant payments, cards)

    • Account management (balances, transactions, postings, reconciliations)

  • Support development teams during implementation phases

  • Define and support test strategies, including UAT coordination

  • Support UAT phase and post-implementation functional support

Profile

  • Master’s degree (Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent)

  • At least 2 years experience as a Functional Analyst within the banking sector

    (mandatory requirement)

  • Knowledge of:

    • Payment systems and flows (SEPA, interbank payments)

    • Core banking / account management systems

  • Good understanding of banking IT architectures

  • Strong analytical, documentation and communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously in a multicultural environment

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Requirements and project management tools like Azure DevOps

  • Basic knowledge of SQL or databases is an asset

Languages

  • French: fluent (mandatory)

  • English and/or Dutch: considered as an asset
